Two flat fees — not an open hourly bill
A full-service firm bills the whole job — the administration AND the legal work — at $250–$400 an hour. We split it: Kindred does the administration for a flat fee, and an independent attorney handles the legal filings for a fixed fee. You still have a lawyer — you just stop paying lawyer rates for the paperwork. Figures here are illustrative examples, not quotes.

Payment terms
How and when you pay Kindred. These terms apply to the fixed-fee Estate Setup and to any package you choose afterward.
- Estate Setup is a one-time fixed fee of $950, charged when you engage us for the discovery and organization step.
- If you continue to a Kindred package, the $950 Estate Setup fee is credited toward that package when the package is engaged within 30 days.
- Packages are flat-fee. A small deposit reserves your coordinator at engagement and is non-refundable once paid; the remaining Kindred fee is quoted in writing before work begins.
- The package balance is typically paid from estate funds once they are available, when the estate and the authority path support it. We explain the timing before you commit.
- There is no hourly billing and no percentage of the estate.
- Third-party and government costs — court filing fees, attorney fees, CPA fees, appraisals, brokerage, publication, bond, and taxes — are separate from the Kindred fee unless explicitly written into your package, and are not refundable once incurred.
- If newly discovered facts change the scope, we pause and give you a written recommendation before any add-on or upgrade.
