Kindred
How it works

You do not need to know everything before you call.

Most families start with partial information. We begin with a fixed-fee Estate Setup, turn the mess into a clear plan, then recommend the right package before larger work begins.

First paid step

$950fixed-fee Estate Setup

We organize the estate facts, documents, assets, debts, missing items, and professional needs into an attorney-ready roadmap.

Typical packet

3-7 business days after core docs

The path

From first call to fixed package

  1. 1

    Start with a call

Tell us what you know, what you don't, and what feels urgent. We explain the first paid step and point out anything you may want to raise with an attorney of your choosing.

  2. 2

    Estate Setup

For a fixed setup fee, we organize the documents, facts, assets, debts, and missing items into an attorney-ready estate roadmap.

  3. 3

    Choose the package

After discovery, we recommend Simple, Core, Full, or Custom with a fixed scope, Kindred fee, estimated attorney role, and clear upgrade rules.

  4. 4

    We coordinate the work

Kindred handles the administrative work and updates. Independent attorneys, CPAs, appraisers, and real estate agents own the licensed and legal work when needed.

Estate Setup

What the $950 covers

Setup is not a vague consultation. It is the paid discovery and organization step that lets us quote the right package instead of guessing.

Will, trust, death-certificate, and document organization
Initial asset, debt, heir, and beneficiary inventory
Real-property identification

Timeline

What happens when

Estate administration is usually measured in months. The early setup work is fast; courts, creditors, tax deadlines, and institutions control the longer timeline.

Initial call

Same or next business day

We learn what happened, screen for urgent issues, and explain whether Estate Setup is the right next step.

$950 Estate Setup

Kickoff in 1-2 business days

You e-sign the setup agreement, pay the fixed fee, and upload the core documents you already have.

Discovery packet

Usually 3-7 business days

We organize the facts, assets, debts, missing items, and professional needs into a clear estate roadmap.

Package decision

Usually within 1 week

You get a recommended package, fixed Kindred scope, estimated attorney role, and any known third-party costs.

Ongoing work

Months, not days

Court timing, creditor periods, institutions, tax deadlines, and property issues set the pace. We keep the work moving.

Package fit

What moves an estate into the next package

You get consistent pricing because the package is based on visible workload: institutions, people, property, professional lanes, and risk. If we discover something material later, we explain it before any add-on or upgrade.

More accounts

Extra banks, brokerages, policies, or subscriptions mean more institution work.

More people

More heirs, beneficiaries, or family coordination increases update and documentation time.

More property

Real estate, vehicles, business interests, or out-of-state assets usually need more professional coordination.

More risk

Creditor pressure, family conflict, missing documents, tax issues, or court complexity may move the matter to Custom.

No surprise billing

If a new institution, property, creditor issue, family issue, or professional need changes the scope, we pause and give you a written recommendation before changing the package.

What we do

Administration handled, professionals coordinated

We're not a law firm, CPA firm, appraisal firm, or brokerage. We handle administration and coordinate the licensed professionals who own legal, tax, valuation, and real-estate decisions.

What we handle for you

  • Track down every account, policy, and asset — including ones the family forgot or never knew about
  • Search for unclaimed property and lost life-insurance policies in your loved one's name
  • Gather date-of-death valuation evidence and coordinate appraisers or financial institutions when needed
  • Maintain an estate transaction ledger and organize records into an accounting packet for your attorney or CPA to review
  • Track creditor notices, bills, and response deadlines for attorney or executor review
  • Notify banks, creditors, and government agencies — and organize whatever comes back
  • Help organize estate bank-account setup, mail forwarding, and account or subscription closeout tasks
  • Track every court, tax, and notice deadline so none of them slip
  • Keep beneficiaries informed and coordinate your attorney, CPA, and real estate agent

We coordinate — we don't replace

  • Attorneys — for legal filings and any contested matter
  • CPAs — for the estate's tax returns

What we don't do

We're not a law firm, CPA firm, appraisal firm, or brokerage. We handle administration and coordinate the licensed professionals who own legal, tax, valuation, and real-estate decisions.

Kindred works only for you. We are paid solely by our clients — never by the attorneys, CPAs, appraisers, or real estate agents we help coordinate. We do not accept referral fees, commissions, or kickbacks from them, and we do not collect or split their fees. You choose those professionals and pay them directly.

Boundaries

What Estate Setup does not include

Kindred is built to remove administrative work from the family and make attorneys and other professionals more efficient. Some work still has to be owned by licensed professionals.

Legal advice, or telling you whether you need an attorney
Preparing or filing legal or court documents
Tax advice or certified accounting opinions
Certified appraisals or final valuation opinions
Brokerage or real-estate sale authority
Court representation or court filings — those are an attorney's role

You don't have to carry this alone.

Tell us about the estate on a free, no-obligation call. We'll map out exactly what needs to happen — and how we'd take it off your plate.

Start with fixed-fee Estate Setup, then choose the right package.
