Refund & cancellation policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026. These terms are final pending a counsel review of the legal wording before broad live payments.
What you are paying for
Estate Setup is a fixed-fee professional service engagement ($950). The deliverable is the discovery work and the attorney-ready estate roadmap, not a physical or downloadable product.
Estate Setup refunds
If you cancel before we begin the discovery work, you receive a full refund. Once we have started, we refund the portion for work not yet completed. Once we deliver your estate roadmap packet, the $950 Estate Setup fee is non-refundable, because the deliverable has been provided.
Setup fee credit
If you continue to a Kindred package within 30 days, your $950 Estate Setup fee is credited in full toward that package. The credit reduces the package fee; it is not paid out as cash.
Package deposit and cancellation
The deposit that reserves your specialist is non-refundable once paid, because it holds their time for your estate. You may cancel an in-progress package at any time with written notice; we then refund any prepaid Kindred fees for work not yet performed. The package balance is otherwise paid as described in our payment terms.
Third-party and government costs
Court filing fees, attorney and CPA fees, appraisals, brokerage costs, publication, bond, and taxes are charged by those providers, not by Kindred. Once incurred, they are non-refundable regardless of how the engagement ends.
How to request a refund or cancel
Email us at hello@kindredestate.com or call (346) 396-2500. Tell us your name, the engagement, and the reason. We respond within two business days and confirm any refund in writing.
Card disputes
If you believe a charge is in error, please contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly. Opening a card dispute before contacting us can delay a resolution we may already be able to provide.
Payment terms
How and when you pay Kindred. These terms apply to the fixed-fee Estate Setup and to any package you choose afterward.
- Estate Setup is a one-time fixed fee of $950, charged when you engage us for the discovery and organization step.
- If you continue to a Kindred package, the $950 Estate Setup fee is credited toward that package when the package is engaged within 30 days.
- Packages are flat-fee. A small deposit reserves your specialist at engagement and is non-refundable once paid; the remaining Kindred fee is quoted in writing before work begins.
- The package balance is typically paid from estate funds once they are available, when the estate and the authority path support it. We explain the timing before you commit.
- There is no hourly billing and no percentage of the estate.
- Third-party and government costs — court filing fees, attorney fees, CPA fees, appraisals, brokerage, publication, bond, and taxes — are separate from the Kindred fee unless explicitly written into your package, and are not refundable once incurred.
- If newly discovered facts change the scope, we pause and give you a written recommendation before any add-on or upgrade.
Who you are paying
